A few months ago, I was invited by Commons & Sense Magazine to participate in this blogger section for their latest A/W issue for 2011 (issue 41), to take a photo of something which would express what I thought was LOVE. As Commons & Sense is one of the most prestigious fashion magazines in Japan, I was honored to participate! This issue was released on August 27th and I am sooo sorry for putting it up NOW! With the wedding planning etc.. time just kicked the wind out of me! (does that even make sense? cuz me soo tired ..) Anyhow as you might or might not know Commons & Sense is a bi-annual magazine which means it only comes out twice a year! So you need to get your hands on it QUICK before it's all gone! You can find it at bookstores like TSUTAYA in Roppongi Hills. Please look for the cover above!
And you can find me 3/4 of the way through! I am sooooo happy to have received a FULL PAGE!! I purposely didn't scan this page because I want you all to go to the bookstore and take the time to read what I wrote..What is LOVE? For me, it was pretty simple, tho I could have shared something about my recent marriage, or the lovey doveyness of me and hubby... but I understand that not everyone is 'IN LOVE'.. and with this theme deriving from the earthquake that happened on 3.11..I felt that 'family' would touch the heart a little bit easier.. Anyhow, you can take from it what you like with my photo..but let me introduce my 7 year old niece, Akira & my mother in law Mieko. ♥
Lovedrose, this is the brand my girl LIV LO was on the billboard for until...yesterday?!
this brand seemed to have an upper east side look.. girly yet sophisticated...
it kind of reminded me of FABULOUS CLOSET....
there were sweets everywhere like ALICE IN WONDERLAND (which is kinda played out by now?)
the reception was quite mellow as well, people just sat around and didn't move..
so it was hard for me to move..
and it was nice to see familiar faces!!!!!
This shop is actually in a really good location behind Lotteria on Harajuku Crossing..I couldn't be bothered to actually shop last night tho because the shop was packed and people weren't moving but I heard the prices are pretty reasonable. I also heard the brand changed their image to have a 'foreign image' so Liv was no longer the face of the brand. So sad. I think I would have actually shopped here if Liv was still doing it. Here is the info for the brand anyway: LOVEDROSE
P.S. I would have went to TABLOID for TGC NIGHT after this but my body decided it wanted to crash! I'm so sad. more to come this week..
It was my first time to PASS THE BATON on Omotesando Hills. I always walked by this shop and assumed that little space on the street was the shop but actually it's located on the B2 floor. HEEHEE The shop itself had a lot of interesting things like super cute vintage and antique items that were quite expensive but totally worth looking at...Anyhow, the event I attended was for this little corner, and to be honest I had no idea what it was about... I don't know if it's just because I was out of town for so long..but recently the reception parties in tokyo have been suuuuper mellow....... I guess it can't be a bad thing.
